EASA publishes a revision of the consolidated text of the UAS or drone regulations, 947/2019 and 945/2019 with easy access rules

EASA, the European Aviation Safety Agency, has published a review of the consolidated text containing EU Implementing Regulation 947/2019 and EU Delegated Regulation 945/2019 together with guidance material (GM) and acceptable means of compliance (AMC). , what is called the easy access rules. This publication contains the rules and procedures for the operation of unmanned aircraft or UAS, displayed in a consolidated, easy-to-read format, with advanced navigation functions through links and bookmarks, together with the indicated help documents, for each article of the regulations.

Covers Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947, and related acceptable means of compliance (AMC) and guidance material (GM), as well as Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945 on systems of unmanned aircraft (UAS) and on UAS operators from third countries.

The April 2024 revision of the consolidated text includes adopted modifications related to:

- The clarification and clarification of the method to evaluate the design of the UAS operated in the specific category.
- Expanding the applicability of the Predefined Risk Assessment for Standard Scenario 01 (PDRA-S01) to agricultural operations.
- Addresses the authorization process for free flight in balloons.

The objective of the update, agreed by Decision, is to maintain a high level of security for the operation of UAS in the open and specific categories and to improve the level of harmonization in the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2019/947.
